Terriyaki Sauce (for chicken wings)

(adapted from original recipe)

1/3 cup mirin
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup water
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1½ tsp. garlic powder
1½ tsp. ginger

1. Combine all ingredients, and simmer until sugar is dissolved.
2.  Thicken with ½ Tbsp. cornstarch and 1 Tbsp. water.
First bring to a boil. Then add to sauce to thicken.
Note:  We added 3 Tbsp. cornstarch and ½ cup hot water to reach desired thickness.
